Is the coffee still processed and packed in Colombia?

Yes, all processing and quality control take place at our farm in Colombia. Of course, Chicas Industry also assists with QC once the coffee arrives in Europe.

How fresh is the coffee?

The coffee is freshly processed and shipped from Colombia, then stored under optimal conditions in Europe. We aim to keep coffee in the warehouse for no longer than 3 months.

What are your processes?

For the majority of our coffees we manage the same thorough cherry selection, a process of thermal fusion and a 3-7 day fermentation in the freshly pulped juice from the cherry and a small quantity of the same juice pre-fermented in our cold room before then drying the coffee with sun, in silo or in our dark room depending on the desired profile.

What is Thermal Fusion?

It is a process we use just before de-pulping the coffee, exposing it first to hot (80C) and then cold (15C) water, achieving two key things. Pasteurization which will give us more control of the fermentation and the creation of more simple sugar (fructose) which will help in the quality of the fermentation and complexity of flavour and sweetness in the final cup.

On average, 2–5 working days within Europe, depending on the country.

Do you ship outside of the EU from your European warehouse?

No — outside of Europe we ship either directly from Colombia or with the help of another
local partner. Please contact us for details and export requirements.

If the coffee I want is not available in Europe, what happens?

We can also ship coffee directly from Colombia. Of course, additional shipping costs apply.

This depends on the destination and volume. Delivery within the EU is often faster and more cost-effective than shipping directly from Colombia.

Are there minimum order quantities for delivery from the Czech Republic?

Depending on the packaging of the specific coffee, the minimum quantity is 24 kg (box) or 35 kg (bag).

How is the coffee packaged for shipping?

Accepted Answer

We use GrainPro bags or sturdy boxes, depending on the volume, to ensure maximum freshness and protection. Each box contains two vacuum-sealed 12 kg coffee blocks, for a total of 24 kg per box.
